Winterization FAQ

Questions, answered

When should I winterize my boat?

Before the first hard freeze — typically mid-to-late fall in the Finger Lakes. Booking early secures your spot before the rush as the season winds down.

What does winterization include?

We stabilize fuel, fog the engine, change the oil, drain and flush the cooling system, and add antifreeze to every line, livewell, and freshwater system.

Do I need shrink wrapping if I store indoors?

Our indoor storage is unheated, so we still recommend shrink wrap for most boats. Shrink wrapping adds a tight, weatherproof seal against snow, ice and moisture — indoors or out. We shrink-wrap only; we do not tarp.

Can you store my boat after winterizing?

Absolutely. We offer indoor and outdoor storage, plus haul-out and launch, so your boat stays protected from freeze-up to spring.

What happens in the spring?

Come spring we de-winterize, inspect your systems, and launch you back onto Cayuga Lake for a hassle-free start to the season.

How do I request winterization?

Fill out the form above, call us at (607) 533-4422, or stop by the marina at 44 Marina Rd, Lansing, NY.
